William Edoni, Wycliffe Bible Translators International Board member, Chairman of the Bible Translation Association of Papua New Guinea and a Public Relations Director of SIL PNG for over 23 years, passed away on February 28, 2006. William was well known in PNG as a loyal and faithful public servant. He was recognized by many different churches as a father figure for the nation. He was also a member of Operation Mobilisation PNG Inc. and the PNG Council of Churches Board. He spoke with great authority, sometimes with a prophetic edge, and was well known for his sense of humor.

William was 65 years of age at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife Gail and their three children, Stanley, Timaima, and Dominic.
